Customer and Address Management

Control how recipient addresses interact with Shopify customer records during order generation. Configure address cleanup and B2B company associations.

When you generate an order, the recipient's shipping address gets added to the gifter's Shopify customer record. This builds a complete address book tied to the gifter, which is useful for outreach and segmentation. For high-volume senders, however, this can clutter the customer database with hundreds of one-time recipient addresses.

Send To Many gives you control over how recipient addresses are handled and whether they're cleaned up after generation.

How Address Auto-Add Works

During order generation, Send To Many:

  1. Finds or creates a Shopify customer using the gifter's email.
  2. Attaches each recipient's shipping address to that customer record.
  3. Marks the address with metadata so you can filter and manage it later.

This means a single gifter who runs multiple Sends will accumulate addresses for all their recipients. You can clean these up automatically or keep them for CRM and marketing purposes.

Address Cleanup

Enable "Remove after generation" to automatically delete recipient addresses from the customer record once the order is created. This keeps your Shopify customer base lean.

When cleanup is enabled:

  • The order is created with the recipient's address.
  • The address is used for shipping and fulfillment.
  • The address is then removed from the gifter's customer profile.
  • The gifter's customer record stays clean, showing only their own addresses.

This is ideal for high-volume corporate gifting where you don't need long-term recipient address data.

If cleanup is disabled, all recipient addresses persist in the customer record. Use this when you want to analyze gift patterns or reach out to recurring recipients later.

B2B Customer Support

Shopify B2B is available on all Shopify plans. When enabled, you can associate each recipient with a company and location. This is essential for B2B sends where tracking which company a recipient belongs to matters for invoicing and order management.

Send To Many automatically handles company lookups during order generation. Recipients are grouped by company on the gifter's account for easier management.

Enable address cleanup if you're sending more than a few hundred gifts per year. This keeps your Shopify customer database clean and improves query performance. For smaller volumes or B2B scenarios where you need to track recipient data long-term, disable cleanup.
