FAQ: Multi-Recipient Checkout Setup & Compatibility

Answers about checkout setup, drawer cart support, bundle products, CSV upload at checkout, form customization, and product customization apps.

How do I set up multi-recipient checkout on my store?

Create a page in your Shopify theme, add the Send To Many checkout app block to it, then add the cart button that links to that page. The button auto-styles to match your theme's checkout button. See Setting Up Checkout for the full walkthrough.

Does multi-recipient checkout work with drawer or flyout carts?

Yes. The cart button app block auto-positions itself on dedicated cart pages. For drawer or flyout carts, the button may work automatically. If it doesn't, you can add a link directly in your theme's cart drawer code that points to the checkout page. See Drawer and Slide Cart Setup.

Can I use bundle products or build-your-own-bundle products with multi-recipient checkout?

Yes. Any bundle app that stores bundle composition as line item properties on cart items works with multi-recipient checkout, including Shopify Bundles and FoxSell Bundles. See Using Bundle Apps with Send To Many.

Can customers upload a CSV of recipients at checkout?

Yes. During multi-recipient checkout, shoppers can enter recipients manually or upload a CSV with names and addresses. The CSV upload option is built into the checkout experience. See How Checkout Works.

How do I customize checkout form labels and text?

Go to your multi-recipient checkout settings and use the Edit Text tab. You can customize any label, placeholder, or button text (e.g., changing "Schedule a ship date" to "Choose a delivery date"). See Configuring Checkout Options.

Do product customization apps work with multi-recipient checkout?

Yes. Customization apps that store options as line item properties on cart items (like engraving, monogramming, or custom printing apps) work with multi-recipient checkout. Send To Many picks up those properties from the cart and carries them through to every recipient order. See Using Product Customization Apps.
